Phiculator makes it easy to use the Golden Ratio in your designs

The Golden Ratio has been used in design for ages. Such greats as DaVinci, Michaelangelo, Rembrandt, Mondrian, and LeCorbusier utilized it in many of their works.

Even Mother Nature utilizes the proportion – in nautilus shells and pine cones, for example.

For a simple way to put it to work in your own designs, download Phiculator. It’s available as a free app for Windows and as an OsX widget.

Punch a number into either the large or small section, press the phi button, and the result is displayed. If you’d prefer a nice, round figure use the phi/int option instead. To reset and display the Golden Mean, just press the CB:AC button.

And yes, even the Phiculator’s interface makes use of the ratio. Clever!
